The SD-1 Kit Range
1. Basic kit

This kit is mandatory for plans construction as the spars are manufactured under controlled conditions. The kit contains the main wing, stabilizer and fin spars as well as pultruded carbon strips for fuselage reinforcements. The hinges are assembled onto the stabilizer spar and fin spar and fitted with bushes and the connection pin. All spars have caps made of carbon fibre and are manufactured from certified materials. Thanks to this technology a single main wing spar weighs less than 2 kg (4.4 lbs).

2. Basic+ kit

This kit saves the builder from handling the most complex building stage - aligning the wing spars and fuselage tunnel and reaming the bushes. Using the Company´s fixture affords the best possible precision. The Builder will receive all spars and ready to use fuselage tunnel complete with reamed bushes. It saves approx. 40 hours of work and the cost of a 12 mm reamer.



3. Starter kit - rudder

This kit is provided for builders without any previous experience with wood-foam construction who would like to have a 'taster' of the construction methods. The kit contains all of the construction material including hardware, pre-cut ribs, drawings at 1:1 scale, a construction manual, glue and varnish.


4. Airframe material kit

The "material kit" consists of wood and plywood raw material. It also contains ribs, complete undercarriage, controls, hardware, all pre-fabricated composite parts and a ready to use cockpit windshield. Plans and construction manual are included. The kit can be delivered in stages without increased price, although total shipping costs may be higher.


5. Airframe 51% kit

The kit is suitable for builders from countries with tougher regulations on amateur building (Germany, UK etc.) where the builder is required to do 51% of the construction work. The wings are finished with the upper skin attached so that inside of wing could be checked by inspecting authorities before closing. The fuselage is prepared to the Quick-Build stage but without glued tank and fin. The construction of the tails and flaperons is left to the builder. Undercarriage, controls, hardware and all pre-fabricated composite parts are included. Options such as rescue system preparation is available. The kit can be delivered in stages without increased price, although total shipping costs may be higher.


6. Airframe Quick-Build kit

NB: not suitable in countries like the UK where the 51% rule is applied.

The kit contains: fuselage including fin, wings, flaperons, stabilizer and rudder. All wood is varnished. Completed parts of undercarriage, controls, cowling, hardware, plans and construction manual are included. Further options up to filler paint are available. Call for detailed price list. Component Sets:

1. Undercarriage

The set contains: complete main undercarriage legs including hinges, complete wheels with drum brakes, complete tail wheel.

2. Composite parts

The set contains: all composite parts except those from the Basic kit. Front upper part of fuselage from firewall to cockpit containing fuel tank ready for assembly onto fuselage. Wing and horizontal tail tips. Cockpit hood. Seat. Gear legs fairings and wheel spats. Fuselage-wing root fillets.

3. Metal parts and hardware

Contains all metal parts and hardware used on the airframe

4. Ribs and bulkheads

Contains ready to use CNC cut ribs for the wing, flaperons, tailplane and fuselage bulkheads.

READY TO FLY AIRCRAFT

Basic version supplied with the Hirth F-33 AS (28 HP) engine, wood propeller, basic instruments, but without rescue system. Other engines offered include: Hirth-F-23, Hirth 2702, Briggs&Stratton Vanguard 23 HP, ½ VW 28-40 HP.
